I've always had a love for all things old and kitschy.
I grew up going to antiques stores and flea markets. My first bed was 100 years old...As a young girl, I roamed the aisles of US 1 Flea Market & went to auctions with my mom. Back then collected I collected new things like smurf action figures, strawberry shortcake dolls & cabbage patch kids. I loved stickers, especially, Scratch N' Sniff and Garbage Pail Kids...
When I was teenager I shopped at New York City Flea Markets and Thrift stores... I bought clothing and accessories. I loved mixing vintage items into my wardrobe.
In high school- I collected Metal Lunch Boxes. In college and when I moved into my first apartment in NYC, I collected toys and then it was PEZ dispensers for the apartment, I added 80s character drinking glasses.
I guess I am nostalgic with my collections. I love things that take me back to a happy place. Don't you?!
When I moved to California, I only brought my favorites... The rest of my collections went into my moms basement in New Jersey. Maybe you bought some of it at her estate sale... LOL :)
My latest obsession is fun-ctional kitchen kitsch and vintage PYREX...
And that's why I named this blog Kitsch-in-Kitchen.
I hope you enjoy my kitschy kitchen fun!
